These Spots For Live Music Are The Perfect Places To Catch Tunes Near Your Wray Apartment

BY Blog Editor

After a long workweek, there’s nothing like unwinding with a cocktail, some dancing and a live band. Here in Washington, D.C., that’s made easy – lots of our local bars serve as live music venues that showcase city bands with dedicated followings.

This weekend, instead of just catching dinner and a movie, head to one of these bars near your Wray apartment that are known for their impressive live music lineups. Make sure you get there early – these are popular spots that are sure to get packed!

Black Cat, located at 1811 14th St NW, Washington, D.C. which is 13 minutes from your Wray apartment, is a multilevel spot that serves as a bar and cafe with vegan options and an indie/rock/alternative live-music venue.

The Black Cat has been bringing you the best in live independent music since it opened in the fall of 1993. In the early ‘90s, D.C. suffered from a lack of good concert venues, especially spaces that catered to the area’s underground music scene. Hoping to revive the tradition of independent music in Washington, a group of musicians opened the Black Cat.

Public Bar Live, located at 1214 18th St NW, Washington, D.C. which is eight minutes from your Wray apartment, is a multilevel bar/lounge/club with dancing, sports on the TVs, American food and a roof deck.

Public Bar was established in 2009 to bring the best sports bar and nightlife experience to Washington D.C. Fast forward to present day, Public Bar has been renamed to Public Bar Live but still holds the same mission and goals with a few added changes as they have evolved and continue to evolve with the needs of clientele.
